Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS FLOW FOLLIES?

FLOW Follies is an annual variety show performed by a group of dedicated people (many with children at Ramapo & Indian Hills High Schools) who sing, dance, work on the production, build and paint sets and most of all – HAVE FUN!!!

WHY WAS FLOW FOLLIES STARTED?

Flow Follies was started 17 years ago in an effort to raise scholarship money for deserving seniors at Ramapo & Indian Hills.

HOW MUCH MONEY DOES FLOW FOLLIES RAISE?

Over the last 16 seasons, Flow Follies has donated over $200,000.00 to students from the two high schools. Last year alone, the Follies donated thirteen $500 scholarships at each school.

WHO DECIDES SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS?

Scholarship decisions are made by the Administration within each school.

HOW MANY PEOPLE GENERALLY PERFORM ON STAGE OR WORK BEHIND THE SCENES?

Ideally we like to have a cast of 50 or more performers with 15 – 20 people working on sets, lights and sound.

WHAT IF I’M A GOOD DANCER BUT I CAN’T SING OR VICE VERSA?

FLOW FOLLIES WANTS YOU! There is a place for everyone and plenty of fun to go around.

CAN I WORK ON STAGE AND BEHIND THE SCENES?

Yes! Just about everyone does more than one thing if they choose. There are costumes to be sewn, scenery to be built, lighting and sound to be synchronized and an ad journal to print, all requiring hours of fun. You name it, you can do it.

HOW MUCH TIME WILL BE REQUIRED OF ME?

Rehearsals are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in January and February for about 2 hours. The week or two before performances in early March usually require more time. Work schedules and travel times can be accommodated.

WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE THE STAGE OR DON’T HAVE THE TIME, IS THERE STILL SOMETHING I COULD DO?

You can sell tickets or snacks on performance evenings, you can work on the ad journal or you can make a monetary donation. Most importantly – GO TO THE SHOW AND CHEER ON THE CAST AND CREW!!!
